Re: Telescoping Steering Wheel

Do you have any pictures of the one you finally found? Would be great to see one.

I think my '65 sedan has a tele column also, but can't move it when I unlock the ring/knob in the center....It has been sitting for a long while and may need to be cleaned up internally.

Re: Bucket Seat Replacement

Hello All, I'm looking for bucket seats that have integral shoulder belts mounted as part of the seat. I want the shoulder belts in front due to safety stats. I've seen some wrap around type seats that have this shoulder belt feature, but didn't get info on them. Anyone seen this type of shoulder be...

Re: ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP CONVERSION IDEAS & SUGGESTIONS

Is anyone running EFI and if so, what pump are you using, (What pressure does it put out)? I'm planning on running Brown's EFI in the 140 using only ONE port per head to start with. I'm not real fond of putting electric pumps in gas tanks, so will probably put it behind the steel wall next to the tu...

Re: ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP CONVERSION IDEAS & SUGGESTIONS

From Clark's "What's New?" page: Clark Repro Fuel Pump Initial testing is complete and pumps are being produced! Expected in stock Summer 2024. C6600R We will receive 3 pre-production samples and will do final testing before full production begins. Larry Claypool has agreed to also test on...

Thank you for that great information on the rod bolts!

I need to start keeping notes from all the great posts here. This is a lot of info.

Re: NEW...To Me Anyway!

Clark's has the rod bolts & nuts. They don't show the special ARP lube. Where does one find that lube?

Re: Corvair as a daily driver. Am I insane?

Hi, my name is 65Monza140 and I'm a Corvairaholic. I thank you, Doc for "coming out of the closet" first. You made it easier for me to face my "problem." I'm putting a '65 sedan with a 140 engine, 4 speed with factory posi differential, telescopic steering & factory a/c back ...

Re: 140 engine rebuild

I didn't know about the oil psi sender! Thanks! Most of the blocks are cleaned up. The spare RM stamped side and another R side are not clean, so I'll start with that one unless it has the psi sender hole. Thank you again! This will be a journey, but it's therapy to me. Takes my mind off all the det...

Re: Heater fan

I forgot to ask: Anyone have any ideas about a rear windshield defroster using the stock heater?

I'm also open to electrical options on this. I have a LM 4 door, which has a slightly different layout than the coupe.

Re: Heater fan

Good grief! The top shroud to firewall hose from Clarks is $45 plus shipping! Then to the heater box is IDK....Duct taped dryer hose is looking pretty good right now! I guess I'll have to get the heater box to rear duct entry hose....That's just as much today. Anyone know how well these gold plated ...

Re: Heater fan motor replacement.

Thank you all for all the helpful info! I am removing the powertrain, so will be able to pull the heater box out and give it a good cleaning from there forward. The car sat a decade or two and cleaning out the vermin smells will be a priority. The whole heater system has to work well, and I am leani...

Re: NEW...To Me Anyway!

Good to know. Is ARP a brand? I've not shopped around at all for this. The one time I did get into the engine was on a '61 wagon engine, and I actually pieced together a working engine from a parts engine as well. It ran for years reliably for me after that, but I did not replace rod bolts, which no...

Re: 140 engine rebuild

Good point on the money end of GM's block production. Thank you for the info on measuring the bores after bolting it together. I will see if I can make a good guess as to which right half it is and assemble it to measure. Most of the block pieces seem to be in good shape. Do you know if there was mu...

Re: 140 engine rebuild

Well, that's good to know. I have 4 blocks, all completely disassembled, and no way to know which half goes with which serial number stamped half, then. Take that back. One FC block is easy to tell due to the fill/dipstick casting on the lower right side. Any help in this regard is appreciated! Than...
